I love these unique “upcycled” wine glasses from Bottlehood, a young California-based company that was founded in 2009. What does “upcycled” mean? I like to call these reincarnated glassware. Instead of recycling glass winebottles, Bottlehood turns them into these durable, modern tumblers that are great for cocktails, red wine, or water.
I really like the olive green color—they feel festive this time of year without being super “Christmas-y." They especially make a great gift for eco-conscious pals or anyone who appreciates good-quality glassware.
Lately, I’ve been using them to serve my guests seasonal “mocktails” like my Cranberry-Pear Cooler (recipe below) and my Pomegranate-Vanilla Sparklet (check out the recipe on my site!).
These are truly a gift that gives back—one you can feel great about purchasing for yourself or someone else!
Makes 8 servings
- 4 cups pear cider (can substitute apple cider)
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- Juice of 1 orange
- 2 ripe Anjou or Comice pears, halved, cored, and cut into 8 wedges (optional)
Divide cranberry juice and orange juice evenly among 8 glasses. Top each with 1/2 cup pear cider, top with a few ice cubes, and, as desired, a pear wedge. Stir to chill and serve.
