This original pen and ink drawing done by Lin Chang Jin depicts a typical day at a market in a small Chinese village about 300 miles from Shanghai called Wen Zhou. In the drawing the artist has captured the simpler days of locals working, buying, and trading in the marketplace in the 1950s. In this particular scene, a couple of villagers can be seen talking while others on the other side of the bridge are walking around the market. The buildings shown are over 100 years old in the picture and are no longer in existence. You can also see that the boat and tools used by the villagers are not commonly used present day.

The artist has meticulously captured a beautiful and historical depiction of life in the 1950s in this small village. His artist stamps can be found on the bottom left of the drawing and location of the village (Wen Zhou) in the top right corner. The rice paper that the artist used was over 100 years old and its age gives the drawing a truly authentic antique/vintage quality.

The drawing measures approximately 8" x 11" and is still in pristine condition. Though it does not come with matting or frame, its size makes it easy to frame and display easily on your own.
