Exotic Salt Collection
Salt has been used for thousands of years, not only as a condiment, but also to preserve foods. Nowadays, we take it for granted as the cheapest condiment, but salt was once considered so valuable it was used for currency. Today, you'll find some recipes call for a specific type or grind of salt beyond ordinary table salt. Our collection offers some of the most interesting salts available on earth. This assortment includes:
- Alaea Volcanic Red Sea Salt: Alaea is the traditional Hawaiian sea salt used to season and preserve. Alaea Hawaiian Sea Salt is non-processed and rich in trace minerals, all of which are found in sea water. (9.5 oz)
- Fleur de Sel by Le Saunier de Camargue: These exceptionally flavorful crystals are hand raked and harvested in France. The name comes from the aroma of violets that develops as the salt dries. Only the premium, top layer of the salt bed is used. Each signature container is sealed with a cork top and signed by the Salt Raker who harvested it. (4.4 oz)
- Maldon Sea Salt: The coastal town of Maldon, Essex, has been the center of a salt producing area since the middle ages. The pyramid-shaped salt crystals, characteristic of Maldon Salt, are fragile enough to crumble easily between the fingers and have a totally different taste from the regular grains of table salt. (8.75 oz)
- Cyprus Black Lava - Mediterranean Flake Salt: Cyprus Black Lava is Mediterranean Flake Salt mixed with activated charcoal. The beautiful color is not the only benefit that the charcoal adds. It also gives a unique taste and acts as a natural detoxifier. (5 oz)
