Tuscan Honey Collection
Local honey has been a long-standing tradition in the Tuscan pantry and there's none better than that produced by Il Forteto. Il Forteto was established in 1977 by a mixed group of young students, workers, and teachers trying to realize their idea of life and cultivated the land. Today they produce exceptional cheeses, olive oil, honey, and preserves, all drawing from past generations of Tuscany's culinary heritage. This assortment includes three of their honeys:
- Acacia Honey: The floral and delicate aroma of Acacia honey has made it a prized commodity in kitchens across Italy. Acacia honey is made from nectar collected from spring-blossoming Acacia trees, resulting in pure, clear honey. (8.8 oz)
- Castagno Honey: Castagno (Chestnut) Honey is smooth, creamy, dark and rich, with the woodsy undertone of chestnuts. Although honey is the sweetest of foods, chestnut honey has an earthy, semi-sweet essence that is very sensuous. (8.8 oz)
- Girasole Honey: Girasole (Sunflower) Honey has a delicate nutty essence and is medium yellow in color. This honey is not runny enough to pour, as it has a crystallized, butter-like consistency. (8.8 oz)
- No honey should be fed to infants 12 months or younger.
