Here is some supplemental information about the : This candle, elegantly scented of rose, finds itself in a round glass holder with a copy image of this painting printed on it. Le Tombeau des Lutteurs (1960) - translated as The Tomb of the Wrestlers - is an image of a luscious red rose that fills up a room from ceiling to wooden floor and from wall to wall. The image is a tongue and cheek reference about the attempts of abstract expressionists to create ÔinterestingÕ works of art, by painting white on white, that become what they are only through art historical scholarly speculations. Magritte believed that a beautiful image does not need to be interestingly expressed, or made extra eloquent to Ôcome acrossÕ. Instead, if images are sublime enough, they do not need anything but precise description. Combustion time is 8 hours. www.rareposters.com
