Roland Topor (1938 1997) was a French illustrator, painter, writer and filmmaker.Roland Torpor's most famous art often seems to relate to masochistic, violent imagery. His art in most fields tend towards the side of the gruesome mixed with the mundane. Even here the man's expression is almost bored while his lower jaw is caved in by a hammer. His style in literature, cinema, painting and acting slides toward the surreal macabre, lending itself toward a distasteful laugh or two.
